We planted acorns yesterday. From the sacred, ancient woods. The handfuls my boy shoved into his pockets and then left on the kitchen table (to feed his wooden squirrel) sprouted, right there where they lay. So yesterday we potted them up. Covered them gently in dark soil and hope. Seven little seeds my boy even in his old age won’t see full grown.
